Agalmic Research is an independent, open research effort focused on a simple problem: producing more information and more ideas is becoming easier, but turning them into understanding, good decisions and useful capability is still hard.
The idea
Abundance changes the bottleneck.
When one thing becomes cheap, something else often becomes the limiting factor.
AI can make writing, searching, coding and idea generation dramatically cheaper. That can make attention, judgment, validation, expertise, trust, energy or implementation more important than before.
Agalmic Research studies those shifts and looks for ways to turn new abundance into practical gains rather than simply producing more output.
What counts as progress
Useful understanding matters more than owning an idea.
Much of the best work starts with knowledge that already exists. Finding a mature theory, a useful dataset, a reliable method or good open-source software can save more effort than inventing a new name for the same problem.
Progress can take many forms: a clearer explanation, a negative result, a useful experiment, better software, a reusable dataset, a stronger method or a question that has finally become answerable.
